Main features:
– Glycolic acid is a type of alpha hydroxy acid that is derived from sugarcane. It is among the most popular active ingredients when it comes to anti-aging skincare products. Its molecules can penetrate deeply through the skin layers as it has the smallest molecules out of all alpha hydroxy acids;
– Glycolic acid impairs the connections between keratinocytes that are located right on the top layer of stratum corneum. It also impairs the lipid stickiness: this action then stimulates cell renewal, exfoliation and simultaneously allows the dead skin cells to shed more effectively;
